So, I've managed to remove the gearbox from my '71 westy tio send off for an upgrade and whilst its out thought I would replace a number of components.
Looking around the usual suppliers I can seem to find what I'm looking for so have a couple of questions :-
Can you get replacement gearbox mounts for a '71 and, if so where from ?
The bolts that were holding the cv joints to the box were the splined ones that needed a torx socket to remove. Most have come out okay but a couple aren't budging and may now be rounded so Ill have to get the grinder out tomorrow. My question is, are these interchangeable with the allen headed ones ?
Because we couldn't get the cv joints of at the box, to get the box out we removed them at the wheel end for now. I've notice that whilst one of the wheels has lots of lovely mucky grease packed in it the other is relatively clean. Presumably I should repack this can anyone point me in the right direction ?
