Hi,

I used to be heavily into aircooled VW`s and now have a desire to get back into them again - I`ve always hankered after an early bay (panel van if poss) and have been looking round at the prices but they seem to vary alot and have jumped considerably since i was into all this!!

Basically i have a t4 at the moment which i`m hoping to sell to generate the money for an early van. I can hopefully generate £5K ish give or take a few £100 either way.

I`m not bothered which year of van i get or if its a crossover or if its left/right hand drive woudl prefer a panel van if possible (do panel vans go for more?). Its really got to have no real rust issues as i don`t have a garage or room to weld anymore(!), - mechanical stuff i can sort out - i know what i`m generally doing have restored a notchback and a beetle previously. Would prefer a reasonably reliable engine. The body work doesn`t have to be perfect at all - don`t mind if its a bit tatty, etc.

Would i beable to get a van like this for £5k ish? This would be my everyday van - i drive 60 miles commuted everyday in all weathers so the van would have to be up to scratch reliablity wise and heating wise (is there such a thing!!!?).

Thanks for any advice in advance!
Cheers,
Mike

He's midlands based, so not sutre if that's near to you.

As Uber says I've currently got 'Patrick the Panel' for sale within your budget, link to the advert here http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18419" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike, also there is this one to consider. Low mileage and also your budget.

Both this and Graham's van look fab, and I'd definitely have one or t'other in my collection if I could! :D

Smart looking T4 so hopefully shouldn't prove too difficult to sell on.

Good luck with your search, but agree with other posts Graham L has some interesting stock to suit a wide range of 'wishes' - even the blue of Patrick is close! And if budget allows don't rule out the RHD stock from Scott Wilson. Always seem to be some very genuine vans in the for sale section on the forum.

Look forward to hearing more
