Just got the email confirmation -
3 adults and 2 campervans = £725!

Im not grumbling and I know its a completely different kettle of fish but Ill never question the price of VW shows again!
bloody hell, the mrs wanted to do t next year but at that price she can go on her own.

last time i went to glasto was in 2003. a couple of junky scouse jerkoffs reversed into the front of my van in the que totalling the front panel. i wouldn't let them go and we waited for hours and hours for apparent police to arrive. the security bods were a joke. in the end i had to give up early hours of the morning not set up, kids cold, hungry and tired. these miscreants had no tickets, id, nothing. i took their numberplate and their so-called broker name. it was difficult to enjoy the festival after that start, but we managed it. obviously when i phoned their broker they didn't exist.

not been since, not for trying though. tickets are ridiculous to get hold off, but to me there is no comparison. you can keep your little festivals, i've been to them, they're crap. gutted tickets are potentially 'been and gone'. first i heard about it was on the radio this morning, bummer.

i'm all for keeping out the crusty, free loading, soap dodging cliche'd muso festy, god they're irratating. no, a keen price to keep the dross out or at least to pay for a big fence to do the same ;).

wish i was going.

Next ticket release is in February apprently, when everyone who didnt have the money to pay for the tickets they ordered have been bounced ...

we reserved ours for 50 quid each, with final payment due in February. Its a much better idea as the people who go every year (ie me) can get tickets easier. When you pay in Feb you then buy the campervan pass too.

It is the 40th anniversary next year (and my 40th) so I cannot wait. I have never seen so many campers there

I had a chat with the wife, se decided that we could have a week in the sun for less money lol I cant argue with her I would rather a week in guarenteed sun than a few days in a muddy field lol

mmm, well the few times i've been to glasto' it's been scorching, very lucky with the weather. i'll have to check out the websites and see if it still possible to get the tickets etc.

i see registration is open again next week. what is needed to register?
i recall last time i tried to get tickets i needed to upload passport photos etc.

Thats it, few details and upload a head and shoulders photo - that is of each person whose registering, not a bottle of shampoo.

there are little festivals and then there are little festivals ;)

including some that have vw shows attached http://www.moormusicfestival.co.uk

i sometimes run the cinema/arts tent at moorfest, but i would have to say, there are better little festivals out there for my money....

Anyone know the deal with regards to awnings?
Looked on the glastonbury site and it says that you can have a tent / awning BUT not at the side of the vehicle must be behind it as the fire officers not happy about something. Is this the case or has anyone thats been before used there awnings?

Not been to glasto for 2 years but went every year for about 6 years in a row at one point .. . i used to go in my late bay every year and we always used awnings on the side and i plan on taking one this year now to put on the side of my brothers wedge to sleep in . I have a campervan ticket for my eb but unfortunatly the painter ran over schedule by about 5 months  so the van is no where near ready ..

they usually put all the rules on the website but when you get there it all goes out of the window because the stewards are way to busy .. one year they said no tents near the campervans but we set up about 4 tents as well as 2 vans and no one said anything ..

cant wait for this year now .. i have done v , download , leeds , reading , and they are all small time compared to glasto .. also you can chill in front of the stage at glasto with your own beer instead of paying 4.50 a pint ..

dont worry about the awning on the side. I have been for last 10 odd years and always with an awning on the side of the van. Just leave plenty of room around the awning and you'll be fine. I think it is to do with fire regs and they dont like people sleeping in awnings..

Never had a problem

So i can have the awning but must sleep in the van, nice 1, might have to invest in a cab bunk / hammock though as its going to be a crush with me, the wife, 5 year old daughter and 1 year old son on a RnR bed

I wouldnt worry too much , we had people always sleeping in the awning .. the security are to busy stopping people taking a slash up the security fence to worry about who is sleeping where !

sorry if I worried you on the sleeping in the awning bit - It is one of their rules but we have slept in ours almost every year or had people with us and no-one has said a word. Much bigger fish to fry there to be honest, such as stopping first time attendess and removing the ice cold bottles of beer in their fridges on the way in.
