Well I've just booked our hols, staying just outside Bude (Sandymouth Bay) unfortunately not staying in the camper as not quite ready yet, we're going 2nd week of August and was hoping I could get some ideas for things to keep my 15 year old daughter and 7 year old son entertained as well as me and the mrs. Cheers Nick.

Not far from Bude

visited this a few years ago with friends & 3 children 7-12 y/o, great woodland walks,
the otters are very active at feeding times

Good surf at Crooklets and Summerleaze (town) beaches, and 2 minutes along the coast at Widemouth.
Good food and drink at most of the pubs in town, all child friendly.
Shame you're not down later. The Bude Carnival is on the 16th, and the bank holiday weekend has plenty going on, especially on the Monday, which is Lifeboat Day.
I'm down there most of the summer, it's a cracking place. :D

16th is the day we come home  but good to hear about the child friendly pubs :D
I have done a bit of body boarding but would love to learn to surf properly

Hello Nick.
I forgot to say. If the weather's a bit inclement, there's a nice pool with a wave machine and small flume at Splash, which is at the top of the hill towards Stratton by Morrisons. There's a bowling alley and soft play maze thing next to the pool as well.
Have a good time. :)

Thanks for the pointers :D
I'll look out for your bus when we're there.

Bus won't be on the road until I get some arches from California. :( Hoping for end of September, maybe October.
Have to walk to the beach with my boards until then. The wife won't let me put them on the roof of her new car.
