golf solex, brake mc

hi all , newbi here, couple of questions (loads more to follow ) seen a down draught solex carb in a shop window (small shop run by an old guy) shop was shut and could only make out solex 30 something iv, think its off an early golf ? any good for a 1600 twin port ? , its brand new and probably cheap as chips, also my brake master cylinder may need changing , its a 68 bay but has had later brakes (discs up front) should i get the early mc or later one to match the brakes ? , thanks in advance

Hi,welcome ,not sure about the carb,but with the m/c if you go on vw herritage web site they have pics of parts so you could match up the correct m/c for your bus.

cheers ,think a later mc with later brake set up makes sence, cheaper anyway
