had a temp 6mnth job, interview last week for permenant post, got letter this morning no job(20 temp for 14 jobs) tempted to start working on aircooled again but its finding sutable unit at right price and getting enough work, but its the only thing any good at :( have all the kit just need shop with room for 4 buses ,storage and parking.all the farmers around here are greedy or misrable farts and proper units cost stupid amounts in rent and rates £2k mnth :!: plusinsurance elec, water ect so would need 35 hrs work @£35 hr every week thats charged out time not bench racing, working out bills, quotes, ordering parts ect.making myself depressed now(in marvin voice)still on plus side i got time to paint my tin ware ;)

or move somewhere cheaper.... :?

Sos about the job but might be good to go a different direction ....

thanks chaps.been mechanic since i was 15,worked on all makes inc air cooled when they were NEW ,once did brakes on split window beetle mecanical ones ,wish i knew what happened to it and could have bought mint notch for £200,nobody wants old school mecanic with 39 years experiance now just spoty 20some things that can plug in diagnostic tool, but they are just fitters not true mechanics.takes experiance to mend something not just bolt on new bits.

Know how you feel fella my worlds turned into black box out black box in (field replaceable units), much prefered the days working on gear 30+ years old granted the 64K processor lived in a sealed clean room the size of the average 2 bed semi 8 meg memory stood 5ft high and an exciter uniter that sits in your palm now was a 19" cabinet standing 6ft high
