Downloaded, installed, updated the number and password as instructed.

I Press 'locate', enter password, then send, it sends a message, however after approx 5 seconds it returns an error message stating
'tracking command failed. Please check your password'

Mine is a CGMart tracker, to achieve the same goal, I just call the tracker unit, not text it.....I'm not sure it receives texts for that command specifically. I'm unsure as I've now lost my instruction booklet with the text commands in it. Not very helpful I know. Maybe others with the same make unit can confirm?

Nice looking app tho, hopefully with some tweaking it will work for my tracker also. Would definitely use this!

Hi Foz,

Thanks for trying it and reporting back! That would sounds like a problem with the message format, there are lots of variants and they sometimes have slightly different commands. I will have a dig around and see if I can find anything about the CG mart tracker commands, I'm hoping it isn't too different as the response you are getting means it has recognised it as a tracking command. When I come up with a solution I'll let you know if you wouldn't mind giving it another try for me?

Thanks again!

Yeh no problem pal, glad to help!

If anybody else has a CGMart tracker and wouldn't mind sharing the instruction book or providing a list of commands & responses then please get in touch :)

I've a Cgmart tracker and one of the codes from memory are..
Text "address" then password gives the location/lat/long /current speed
Theres loads more when I remember them I'll let you know.
Downloaded your app today, great idea.
Cheers
Martin

Thanks Martin :) that seems a bit different from the one I have so any others you can remember would be great. Ideally actual sample messages and responses would be best as I have to parse out the responses in the app.

As an example with the TK103B tracker I have the command to locate is:

fix030s001n123456

with a response like:
lat:52.123456 long:-0.123456
speed:14.78 dir:207
T:24/01/13 21:40
PWR:ON Door:OFF ACC:OFF
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=52.123456,-0.123456&z=16" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Little cumbersome to type but any help is appreciated :)

I assume you get the same error as Foz when trying to locate?

Ok just had a look it's not a CGmart tracker it's this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Vehic...5?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3f1b1803c1
Anyhow from the manual
Auto track continually send SMS command "fix030s005n"then password.
It will report the geo info at 30 second intervals five times (change th e numbers for different intervals)
There are more commands but in a simpler format for example "check"password give the power status, signal strength etc..
The responses are exactly as you've shown.
If you need anything else let me know.

Hope this helps a bit
Cheers
Martin

Thanks Martin,

That seems to be the same one I have so it should work ok for you :)

The New beta version works fine for me now, after a couple of initial teething problems. Nice little app, look forward to the next version already.

Or if you have an android phone you could use the app and get the information straight to your phone instead of using a third party ;)

Plus I have a couple of things planned which will offer more than those websites can provide. An if there is anything the web service does that you want to see in the app or anything else then let me know!

Think I'll stick with Westy's App, I'm not keen to put my login details of my tracker over the internet. As the saying goes 'if its too good to be true, it usually is'!
I don't trust anything for free! in this day and age NOTHING is for free! unless for ulterior motives.
