I have removed the eninge from my my 69 bay to sort the engine compartment, fuel tank etc and I'm now at the point at re-installing the engine. Does anyone know what type of grease I need to coat the spindle in the gearbox before re-installation? Is it standard stuff I can pick up at my local diy or gsf etc??

I use a very thin smear of bearing grease (available at halfrauds)on the input shaft and the face of the clutch release bearing.

Copper grease is an anti ceasing compound not really intended for lubrication.

Many thanks for the replies.

Engine is now back in following greasing up, used Castrol LM from Halfords.
