For those who want a continental roof bed I was thinking of ordering a bulk order from this guy:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=752645" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you are interested put your name down and I will see what the response is.

I'd be interested, but I'm not convinced by the picture of the bits. Most notably the pins that hold the pillow section up against the bed when it's not in use???

I have just got one of these to fit the original roof bed that i managed to score this week for £40. and can vouch that the quality is really good.

Cheers Jon

At least we now know the quality is there, just need to get numbers, I would have thought that the costs would be as follows:

$40 (£27 approx) postage for between 10 and 30 sets
$45 (£30 approx) for the hardware

So if we have 10 people it would work out at about £33 each, all you would need is the ply, c-clips, foam and fabric.

I will be contacting him in 2 weeks time with numbers, but I will divide shipping equally between the group and if I get a large enough number I will try to get a group buy discount.

If you are based in Holland, would it be cheaper for you to order direct. I am more than happy to put you in the group buy, but if you want to have it posted out to you when they arrive it may cost you more in the long run.

If you are over at the shows in the UK I can easily get one to you.

What are the c clips?

Cheers!

Alistair

Just a question, how does it go up when the roof is raised during the day.

Graham it was good to talk with you yesterday, how about a group fitting day in the Midland Earlybay workshop too :D

Thanks guys.

Dave.

The C-clips are the metal clips the rubber tie downs Clip in to.

Dave - The bed is held up by the rubber tie downs - you undo the tie downs to lift the roof and attach them to the C-clips, thios takes the bed up with the roof.
