Lovely letter arrived from them today demanding £3k today for under payment within 30 days related to work.

Not even a happy Christmas.

Realised straight away that all was no right and did a few checks, got on the phone and they admitted that there was an error.

We trust the inland revenue that they are correct but how many times do they get it wrong and we just except it ????

yer i can relate dude

been working my arse off all year only to get taxed 40% on my once a year only bonus!

dont seem fair somehow!

i got a letter a couple of years ago demanding £1000 worth of income tax that i supposedly hadn't paid between 1995/1997........ fortunately i've got every single payslip since i started work!..... and could prove that i'd paid the correct amount, eventually they admitted that they had made an error  but no apology... and if i hadn't of kept the pay slips i would of had to pay up :(

they are pretty useless! i'm an accountant so i hear a lot of moans from the tax dept about them especially this time of year with how busy it gets.

I had a letter last week from my accountant advising me to BUDGET for a £8933.78 taxt bill due by Jan 31st 3008!

So i have to save that next month  Great!
