I set myself a personal goal of getting through this tough guy challenge in January. It's no secret, I'm not the fittest of people.
Ive made it even more worthwhile by jumping on the charity band wagon for Great ormond street hospital.

Has anyone else done the event or similar? particuarly anyone who isnt the fittest? how did you find it?
any good prep tips? :msn4: i think this will a slow painful death :msn4:

Yup done it and i wouldnt worry. You will start at the back. it is hard but go at your own pace and enjoy. tip for the day take spare clothes and some water to clean your self off at the end

I haven't done one yet, although it's something I want too at some point.
As for prep I'd recommend you get in a gym 2-3 times a week on a treadmill or rowing machine to build up your cardiovascular fitness just to make the going a bit easier.

I'd forget the gym. Best thing is to get out into the cold, whatever the weather, and just run. Be it cross country, which is best or at least grass verges where you can.
Choose the deepest, muddiest puddles you can run through, or even go out of your way to run through them. Great fun!
If you want Lee, come over to mine and I'll take you on my circuit.
