I've recently bought one of rackhams headlining kits and I'm wondering what varnish / finish to coat.

I want to keep the natural colour so I'm thinking just a satin clear varnish? What have others used?

Clear lacquere, 20% sheen ( cabinet maker) with lime-wax finish, yes I did the back also but not with the wax...

Thanks trinketpimp. Forgive my ignorance but is 20% sheen lacquer and lime wax readily available in b and q or the sorts? Cheers!!

You may get the wax there but lacquere was sprayed on at work ... A good varnish and a fine brush will do just as well.

I used Sadolin PV67 varnish.

Not cheap, however, i only planned on doing it once.

My bad - it was actually Morecambe and Wize where I got the headlining.

Cheers for the tips lads - I'll give it a go this weekend.
