Hello dubbers, I'm at the later stages of getting my 69 bay finished for the season and are about to buy heating system for her. At present I'm thinking of having front/rear heated screens for her but not sure what to use for the cab/ sleeping area. It has no heating in at present. Your Imput I really value so can you give me some ideas. Ideally something we can use as she's running/camping reliable but not too expensive , Andy

Hi Andy,
I would start with thinking about how you would like to power the heating. I have a Propex heater that i use propane to power, but there are also Webasto desire heaters and the old vintage petrol heaters if you can find a complete one.

Cheers
Sam

Decent sleeping bag and beer jacket is all "Men" need!
For the ladies Propex heating is excellent - warm and efficient

Thanks for your guidance stuf lol. Hi Sam , I've been given a little info but still need more before deciding which way to go. What I'm trying to get is your experiences with what system you all use . I've been told the petrol linked heaters are ok when stationary but no good on the move. Also that the dispel ones are more reliable, I'm looking to get some kind of heating I can use on the move as well as parked up. Something tried and tested by the people who use it , then I'll see what good ones on the market that you all recommend and choose from there mate, Andy

Standard heating on the move, propex for wild camping and a small electric one for on site.
Happy wife , happy life. Me to.

Mikuni diesel heater i use it when I'm driving, tested on a seven hour drive to Scotland and back fuel tank of eBay Separate powers by leisure battery.

Thanks for your help. This site is a great example of what's like at the shows. One big family. I've just invested in heated front and rear windscreens from jk, I've just bought a propex heater( did look into the mikuni heaters but the company changed hands and they did a Chinese version now which I didn't want. Thanks anyway , it was an avenue to go down), and for when we are at a campsite with 240 hook up going to buy an electric heater. Sorted thanks all

Result!
Fingers crossed we have a warm summer and you wont use too much gas staying toasty! 8)

Glad you have got things sorted , our bay runs a diesel Ebberspacher air top 2000 with a separate fuel tank , works on the move and stationary, really powerful and controlable and I have had a separate diesel tank made that sits in the engine bay on he other side to the battery:) last year it used £4.15 of diesel! We had it on a lot at the beginning of the year!

Toffo that sounds a good system to have and you made it work for you by having the tank and having the diesel version. I didn't even look at the diesel systems as wouldn't have thought of doing what you done. I was warned off the petrol types and I'm sure some people would disagree but I'm taking on board other people's experiences. That's certainly food for thought for the future and I do like the sound of that idea. At the mo I've only got so much and the screens for me were a must so what I had left bought me a second hand propex unit to get me over the summer and into the winter. I will see how it goes . Maybe if you get a bit of time in the future maybe you could send some pics of the setup , regards Andy

No problem will sort some pictures out at the camp out next weekend , if your attending you can have a look for yourself:)
