Hello, and help finding my old Camper please!

Hi All,

It's nice in here isn't it

I'd love to know if anyone here has seen my old van. it's a 71/72 devon, white over Porsche Turkis blue with an elevating roof reg: XFA 658K. I sold it in 2000 and it went to a couple in the midlands. After looking on the DVLA site I can see that it was probably taken off the road in May 2006. It's either being restored, or has been scrapped ( If anyone knows how you can find out if a vehicle has been scrapped, I'd love to know

Its still out there somewhere, not on hpi as scrapped. Now on its 20th owner who aquired it in 2003. Was blue, in 1994 it changed to blue/white. Engine AS192759 Chassis 2322010911 first reg 17/02/1972. No plate transfers and no vcar status. Hope that helps

I'd just like to know where and how it is with a view to maybe getting dibs if the current owner ever sells. I might see if I can get a message to the owner via the DVLA.

Actually what i can tell u is an insurance company hasn't searched it recently which suggests its sorn - there are no insurance markers on it at all. This may be of course, because its a classic vehicle, but i'd still expect them to check its registered in the uk, maybe they don't.

Looking on the DVLA site it says that the last date of liability (or something similar) was May '06, so points towards the vehicle being SORNed. They would only be looking for the owner if they were driving around in a vehicle that shouldn't be on the road.

Maybe a phone call to Swansea is in order
