Where are you, you never know some one may be local and willing to give it a once over with you, remember to take a torch and magnet, if it does not feel right walk away, there will be another!

You may need to give it a miss. Sounds like they've done a quick job on it to cash in - you'd be better off finding a van owned by someone who care for it and who could give you some history. Mine is a 72 Devon (best there is!) and I know all but one of the owners, and even then know where he lived. All through each buyer taking care while it was with them.

Do let people here know where you live as we are happy to help and advise anyone interested in our buses. Failing that take some pics, post them and ask people like slammedkustom by pm - he's a top bloke and would certainly give sound advice.

If they are not happy waiting while you get help they probably are not worth dealing with.

Come and find us at a show whether you have a van or not!

Basically more of what they ^^ said.

If you put your location up someone may be able to help you view it or show you their van - will help identify areas to watch out for.

Do you know the registration?
if you do whack it in here:
http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it should be able to tell you some basic info about when it was last (legally) on the road.

And this link will give you recent electronic MOT info (including failure info) if you can get an MOT ref or the logbook number off them:

here you go folks a link to ebay, im supposed to be going to see it tommorow but im not to sure on it, dont know why it just doesnt feel quite right  it might just seem cheap for what it is when you compare the price to some bays on vzi

thats for all the info peeps ;)

The sill looks a bit suspect, and the front wheel arch seems to be showing signs of age! I personally wouldn't bid without a view!

That's a tough one to call.

You would really have to look closely at any potential purchase. There are rubber bungs on the wheel arches, which would lead my to believe that they were wax oiled at some point. This shows a bit of thought & could be a good sign.
If that amount of works has just been done to the brakes, then it could indicate that teh van has been sat about for a while. That's not a cheap job to change that lot & better than you having to do it.
It looks clean & tidy with nice trim. I would go & look at it with someone in the know...

Looks like a good solid van for a right hand drive and no belly pans which is a bonus, definately worth going for a viewing, as for the wheel arch holes im pretty sure the archs have been replaced as the new ones have these holes in them, you will be hard pushed to find a right hand drive uk van that hasn't had the bottom panels replaced in this condition. :)
Chianti Red gets my vote too

tbh i didnt give the holes in the arches a second thought cause ive got them on the bug and they where done to get waxoil in, but its another good question to ask

i definetly wouldnt bid without going to see it and its only a half hour drive from me, so ill let you know what happens tomorow once ive seen it

cheers folks ;)
