Picked up our bus as an abandoned project. It has a new front on it. Very near to putting in paint shop we tried fitting the dashboard to see if everything was lining up. Low and behold, the holes for the front half of the dash near the windscreen lined up with nothing! Only after looking on YouTube did we see that tabs with threaded inserts should be there. Cannot seem to locate any for sale, anywhere. Can anyone help? Are they welded in position? Any advice greatly received.

You should have curved supports one each side shown in this picture, the holes have a push on clip which you screw the dash to:

Nope - absolutely nothing there and will re-check in our box of bits. The front of the dash was replaced with nice rust free Cal import but it seems the support bracket was not sourced.

You can get the clips from Halfords, or any motor factor...
Thanks - will check that out. I will come up with something - was hoping there was an "off the shelf" solution without having to bugger about a bit. Cheers!

The painted bracket in the pic above is part of the bus, its welded to the front panel. You could fab them, or get a couple of a breaker, try NOS VW, he breaks them all the time.
