Van failed MOT today........failed on lower ball joints, indicator lights not working on dash, and lever insecure.

So, I need some recon trailing arms or whatever, the indicator lights might be dash bulbs? So can do myself.

Anyone know where i can get, or have the parts i need?

I have 10 days to get it back to the MOT station, but we are supposed to be going to Tredegar House this coming weekend, so that isn't gonna happen......

Oh well..........

I've had the same issue this week (balljoints) on my '67 bug - I ordered two upper trailing arms with new b/j's from VW Heritage, they arrived in a couple of days and only took 20 mins to fit (easier as it's running Red9 coilover setup so no fiddly torsion leaves to thread through).

Not sure if they do replacements for vans but deffo worked out cheaper doing it that way for me, also meant that the car was only jacked up for the morning as I didn't have to wait for new b/j's to be pressed in etc.

Hi!

Had a look, but they only do them separately, or in a kit, but still need pressing in.....

Will try Scott, as mentioned above.......

Cheers!

If you still have a valid mot cert you can still drive it?

well done mot garage for knowing how to test ball joints ,they have no idea how to test them over here....

we get two months to retest them and you can still drive around ... ;)

While your looking for bits it may be a idea to get a anti-roll bar fitting kit cos that has to come off... 8)

To rub salt in the wound ,we can also make our campers "vehicle de collection" no mot for 5 years ...

Hi!,

Ok, I'll look for the kit - funny thing is, I'm sure last time i looked, i dont think it had one fitted - I'll take a closer look.........

5 years?! Blimey! How come? Is it because they have classic status?

Cheers!

anti roll bars make the steering less all over the place ,I also like them bearing in mind you only have one grub bolt holding the trailing arm in... :?

Yes , historic vehicle status...
