I have a separate button for my horn, as the wire is dis at the base of the column (the earther wire is OK). I can see it hanging loose. But how to get to it?

I tried unbolting the dome shaped cover at the base of the outer column inside the cab, but although it would rotate, I couldn't pull it up - I thought that might be a good way of getting to the wire.

Do I really have to drop the steering box down? Is it as much of a pain as it looks?

Thanks,
Nick

That little black plastic bush compress the sides together ( at the cut) and pull that free, its there to guide the live column past the chassis and isolate it up until the horn buttons depressed
