Hi guys (an girls),
Drove back from weston on the weekend and halfway home noticed a squeeling noise on the osf wheel, stoppped the bus to check and the disks were excessively hot on that side so thinking it was a wheelbearing gone i proceeded to replace.
To cut a story short i drove to poole today and the squeeling and heat are still there so i guess its not the bearing, jacked the bus up to check again , brakes are'nt binding its not a bearing as its a new one now. What else could it be??????? :? any pointers greatfull.

Could be a brake flexi line rotting internally and keeping just a little pressure on the caliper.

Is the bearing correctly set up there should be some perceptible play. Did you check the brakes when they were hot or cold? Remove your pads and push the pistons back to check that the calipers aren't seized.

The bearings were tightened than backed of slightly, .
jacked the van up on the front and could spin the wheels quite freely (equally on both sides).Am i right in saying the pads should just skim the disks? i refurbed the front calipers for the mot 2 months ago also

Yes the pad will just skim the disc, but remember when then discs are hot they will have expanded, hence did you check when hot. Also check the clearance on the brake pedal push rod into the mater cylinder it should be 1mm if this disappears then you will potentially get binding brakes.

Well, discovered outer piston in caliper( farthest from brake line) not returning as much as inner one is this normal ? anyway to add to that found tracking is out :x and the tires going bald on the inside  now need a new tyre as well grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! now off to drink some intoxicating fluids to ease the pain on my wallet. :)
