Thought I'd best post a reply as the owner
1) The 1968 beetle belongs to my son (who owns a very nippy '61 beetle as well) It used to belong to his grandfather and he can't bring himself to part with it, although it is just a shell basically. He did a lot of work on it a long time ago before some scroat set fire to it. His current plan is to somehow get it into his own backyard.

2) The squareback was bought by my son and myself with the idea of restoring it. After starting welding work it was found to have a well rotten floor that had been covered up by some incredibly artistic fibreglass work. (it even had jacking points fashioned in 'glass) We had already bought a number of parts (wings, exhaust, heat ex. front clip, under front screen panel etc) but decided it was too much work. We recently decided that we would have to break it and sell the parts off.

3) My split van. Matt is correct, I have owned her for about 17 years and up to approx. 3 years ago she was my only means of transport. She was taken off-road after failing MOT for corroded rear wheel arches! ( new mot tester; she had passed test in same condition for previous 3 years at same garage) All important (ie testable) welding work was done which included stuff that I could see would soon need attention:- inner and outer sills, rear wheelarches, cross chassis member, rear corner, etc. I then decided to do some extensive (upgrade) engine work (I now had a second car) and could take my time to do it. Trouble now is that at 68 I'm getting to old to be scrabbling round under her, especially with our climate, so have decided I must sell her. If anyone is interested, give me a ring 01582490818. and I'll tell you anything you want to know (including want wants doing) I'm looking for £8500 and can justify it. So if you want a genuine UK RHD splitty ? Dave C.

Many thanks for coming on and clearing up 8) I would suggest putting an add in our forsale section ;)

My mate Brad has just bought it! His a very happy bunny.

After chatting to the owner it's winging its way to Cambridge and no doubt on the ramps at my workplace for a check over.
