I'm sure it's a common problem But it's to the point that the engine cuts off at idling.

Faulty servo or a leak in the pipe?
 
Could be, or could be a mixture/fuel shut-off valve/timing/valves...

Let the bus run and spray some wd40 around the joins in your inlet manifold.... see if the revs increase.
 
Servo. Had the exact same problem. Block the pipe off at the servo end and see if that solves it.
 
This is interesting as I am just starting to see this problem on my van. What is interesting is that I have only just starting to get this happen since cleaning all the grease and waxoyl under the van that was covering all the pipes so I wonder if I have a leak that was being plugged buy all the crap!
 
Just got my van back from Alan Hills Motors & he tells me that hoses are fine but the non return valve is missing.

Maybe that's the problem then :shock:
