Taking the '70s carpet off.

Under the carpet solid metal at least the passenger side , well see the other side later.

Dashboard and steering wheel look good.

Cooler looking good.

Seat covers , so '70s but in good shape all around , Westy cabinets look good too.

First stickers to go on the bus.

Got my registration and plates already , bus had a dead battery but replaced with a new one over the weekend and engine sounds good and steady , love it.
I will put some miles on it this week as my T25 is at the shop again :roll:
I need to get correct wheels too as previous owner had some 15" wheels from a bug or split bus , who knows.
Inspection continues and took some pictures this morning.

Smooth poptop must be a '68 and maybe early '69 only style.

Raingutter good.

Underside good.

New clip area solid but wrong type of wheel arch , already talking to a local welder to replace the outer lip with a new metal piece from Wolfsburg West.

The bus came with a salad of 15" wheels , need help identifying them so I can advertise them properly or trade locally for proper 14" wheels.

the smooth wheels are 52-65 beetle wheels, and the slotted ones are 66-67 beetle wheels.

heres a ling to stock wheels i just found.

Thank you , I already advertised them on The Samba with this new into.
I have sourced 1 wheel so far 4 to go.

Took all the interior out last night and is now safely stored in my garage , I want to drop the bus at the paint shop next monday.
Those wood panels are ugly :mrgreen:

Camper still at home so I had time to remove the interior panels and flooring.

Got the replacement panel to correct the lip on the rear wheel.

Floor looks good , only surface rust.

This spare rear hatch is in better shape than the one on the bus so it will be replaced soon.
