Hi
Is there an "idiots guide" anywhere on the site for newbies to get a better understanding of the tech talk involved with early bays (and I guess other vehicles)?

Whilst searching through the threads I am coming across "unknowns" and having to guess as to meanings - slammed (lowered) narrowed (reduction in axle?) , drop spindles .... And many others.

Trying to learn and keen to get on the "ownership ladder", so any guidance to this idiot would be most welcome.

Now that sounds like a good idea as an info type thing. I don`t think there is one at the moment. I don`t think you`re far off with what you`re thinking anyhow. Don`t be frightened to P.M. me if you want to know anything that you think might be a `daft` thing to ask  Most of what you are listing is about ride height and the top of the tree is the raised busses but you very rarely come across them, then down from that you have the stock height, then down from that we have lowered busses of many configurations from one inch lower to about three and a half inches useing various methods including flipped or welded spindles and beam adjusters etc then we get into slammed busses and at the bottom of the pile would be the frame layers usually accomplished by all of the above and hydraulics or pneumatics but not always but the lower they get, the more modifications that are required which is where narrowing the beam (axle) comes into it and notching things like the chassis etc. Then you have the rear suspension etc etc etc etc

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, It goes on and on I`m afraid ,,,,,,,, a bit like me

Thanks Ozziedog ...... A bewildering range of options by the sound of it.

So how can we go about starting an "Idiots Guide" that could be used by all?

I've started it for you, we can build it up and possibly make it a sticky? I've just chucked some info together thats pretty basic. I can throw in some guides if you want?
