importing from germany but no documents _whats the deal?

hi looking at importing vw from germany to UK - problem is there are no documents with the vehicle (or keys) as the previous owner is now deceased.
It has the original german number plates.

Anyone know what the deal / risks are

i THINKyou can import and register on German plates and Chassis number , i did this with my Panel van when importing from Portugal ,

great! probably worth doing a vehicle check on the number plate - never done it before - does it matter if its a german plate?
do you know any companies that do it quickly??

Vehicle check ?? not sure , i didnt do one , i just went to Portugal , looked at it and bought it , Can be easier as its in the EU , so no import tax 8)
Im sure people who import regularly will be along soon to fill in the blanks
