hi i don't know if this will be of interest to anyone , but after looking for sometime i've found a tacho that fits (with a bit of help ) in the clock space in the dash, anyway what here's a pics (i've taken it apart to fit the silver center so looks like the others

We've just bought the same gauge. Haven't fitted it yet though. I take it that it needed a bit of persuasion to go in?

have you got details on the gauge and does it come with all the bits for the sender?
 
The tacho is available from ETB Instruments http://www.etbinstruments.com or VW Heritage/SSP. You need to buy the 80mm tacho and a fitting ring to enable installation to the clock space. There's no sender, you just connect a wire from the coil to the tacho. A wire frim the tacho to earth and one from the light circuit. You can download the diagram from the ETB web site.

hi this tach is from "modworld" cost £50.99 , its just wires no sender , the gauge is about 68mm in a 80mm pod that i fixed from behind the glass in the dash , enjoy steve
