What are the indicator repeaters on the dash supposed to do?
They weren't working at all so I replaced the little bulbs in them (after gaining a set of skinned knuckles getting the heater knobs off :sad0049: )
Now they work fine on the hazards (both flash on and off) but when I turn on either indicator both arrows flash once and then nothing........
Any ideas :?:
The indicators also flash a bit fast, all connections and bulbs are ok, faulty relay maybe :?:

Cheers,
Matt.

Its been a while but I thought they only flash when indicating direction and the switch flashes when emergency is activated....

I know what you mean Matt .. cos mine does it too ..

Although it doesn't flash just once .. it kind off flashes between 4 and 10 times ( dependant on engine revs at the time!) and then goes off and the clicking from the flasher unit gets a little quieter .. although the indicators are still good .. sometimes it comes back if i leave them long enough ..

Its gonna be a high resistance somewhere .. and im guessing in the flasher unit .. but its on a long list of things at the minute...

.. and the chances of it reaching the top are 'low to piss poor!' :sad2:

Hiya Matt,

I've done a bunch of work with the flasher system on a 70.

Almost certainly you have a bad flasher unit. You also need to go around to the four corners of your Bus and polish the gounding (earth) contacts for less resistance in the circuit. Wouldn't hurt to polish the positive side contacts either.

If your flasher (should be plugged into the top of your fuse box) looks like this.............

You have a 215C original to your 70 Bus. When these flashers do go bad they often present the very symptom you have described...........limited or no flashing on the dash.
