hi all , i have a 1970 t2 from sweden so its a left hooker, my problem is that all the lights around the outside of the bus work as they should do but when i signal left the little arrow light on the instrument panel flashers left which is ok , but when i signal right the right arrow light flashes left also , i have replaced the flasher box with one from vw heritage , its a diffrerent style box but the man said the origional style relays are no longer available and that there is only one other kind now , so i bought one of those and its now fitted but the problem is still the same..i've tried to explain it as best as i can but any help would be greatly appreciated , thanks very much.

Mine also does this!
I wonder if its a more widespread problem?! Have to say its never really bothered me, I was told that they both should light up when indicating (i.e. it just tells you your indicating, not which direction!) Just assumed the right hand bulb had gone in the dash!

Hmmmmm

Lets see what other people have to say!

Best

I'd say WillEvans is bang on - I've got a 1970 Bay from Sweden and both arrows light up when indicating in both directions, so I'd guess the right hand bulb is gone.

mines a 69 uk rhd on indicating left or right both lights on my dash come on aswell --same on my mates van so id say its the norm

If you check out the wiring diagram here http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiring/baybus_71a.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you will see the dash bulbs are wired in parallel and cannot therefore light separately.
