Inlet Manifold Removal

Hi
Will be fitting a remote brake servo soon and need to fit the servo vacuum fitment (drill and tap) into the inlet manifold for the vacuum.
My question is... can I remove the inlet manifold without dropping the engine (Haynes say engine drop)

My bus is a 68 with a single port engine so manifold is in one piece.

oh well was worth an ask!

Drill and tap in situ, and then gave a real good suck round afterwards with a strong vacuum ckeaner
