Hi,

Just discovered I can't make payments to non-UK accounts via online banking - and that my bank will charge me £10 for each payment I make (to any non-UK account). Bunch of bankers!

However I want to make three payments - and I begrudge paying my bank anything!

Anybody know of a low-fee (and secure) method of making payments to a non-UK citizen?

Thank you,

Mike

dont know that there is a safe free way, are you likely to be making more payments in the future and are they all to the same country? if so set up an account in that country then just do one transfer - cheaper but not free and potentially inconvenient if youl leave money there for a while.
Or paypal again not free but more convenient and for small amounts of money the fees are probably cheaper.

My bank (scumbags) take £50 a month off me to change my wages from euros into pounds :(

The only way to send money internationally would be a wire transfer western union etc. other wise paypal but the percentages are about 4.2%+ i think

10 quid is for a BACS or CHAPS international account to account transfer, it also cost my compny this everytime they pay me  , banks always win!

Just had to send money abroad and £10 for a transfer was cheapest, only thing is it was for each transfer so if you could combine your three you'd save £20.

Yeah, as much as I detest paying them, Baaahclays (my bank - but obviously not the correct spelling  ) was the cheapest I could find (via BACS/CHAPS).

Ah well - I 'spose £20 or £30 is a small price to pay when there's a lifetime of happiness to follow :)

I think you and jon (58herbie) and probably a few others (ddfrost, slammedkustom) already know ;)

It's not like I'm keeping it secret or anything - I think I just would rather not say anything until it's actually sat on our driveway - if you know what I mean!
