Is the accelerator cable different on a 68???

[our bus 68]

Hi all,
My accelerator cable snapped the other day so went to fit a replacement one that came with the van. However the ends are totally different. The one fitted had a hook end for attaching to the pedal lever, but the replacement ones all seem to have a loop end. Unfortunately there is no way of fitting a bolt through to connect it to the lever arm. Is this another 68 only item? It's currently just cable tied!!! :roll:

Here is a picture of the hooked version. Does anyone know where I could get one from?
