Hi mate I did use the original top quality seal and I did also change the o ring, I used the old knackered seal to protect the new one when fitting, I left the new seal sitting ever so slightly proud, I read that's the way to do it? (Il bet Thats wrong?), flywheel looked in very good order, everything was torqued up properly, new gland nut clutch and plate , wish I never bothered now.

I would say it should be just all the way home - thats the way I do it - it is therefore normally just a little bit in...

it always needs oiling too to help stop the flywheel tearing it - again thats what I do - Trikky will pop up soon I hope and offer some advice...

Yeah I did oil it up aswell as the flywheel, I was told (and also read in a previous thread ) that the seal should sit so that the shoulder / shamferred edge is slightly proud? Il be pissed if that's wrong! :|

I think that it is wrong but only my opinion, I always put it all the way home which has on the 20 or so I've changed has always been flush or slightly in only by a mm or so

Picked the van up tonight after having the rear bearings done, the n/s rear wheel still seems to have a little play in it, and the rear wheels still seem out of line, the wheels seems to point outwards slightly towards the front! Oh and there's a squeaking that seems to occur when slowing down to junctions etc! Any ideas people?

Whilst I'm sad to read the troubles you guys are having, I'm delighted to find out it's not just me!

Today was supposed to be a quick hour checking the valve clearances and changing oil and filter. 1&2 rockers sorted ok. Took the cover off 3&4 and saw a broken spring washer. Managed to get a spare and fix the rocker then when setting 4 @ TDC I used a pencil down the spark plug hole. Then went to adjust 3 and rotated the engine, managed to trap an inch of pencil in number 4. Spent the next couple of hours trying to fish it out the plug hole. Gave in in the end and fired it up and caught the bits as the were spat out the exhaust.. No harm done... Ended up a 5 hr job
