Well its fitted and it went on a dream and even the splash pans fit correctly. Dont know if its a westy swan neck tow bar but the quality and fit are up there with it if not.
Sorry about photos it was my phones fault.

do you have any more pics of the brackets. I just go hold of the towbar tube with swan neck but need to fab some brackets, so any pics would be helpful ( before and after fitting)

No more pictures until i take it off again next week to get it painted. Will take some then if i remember. I asked about this at a black smiths and he said because of the forms and castings it would be difficult to replicate exactly.

Ok some pics would be great. I'm sure I'll come up with some sort of bracket just need some ideas on where it should mount etc

Clyde. I'd be interested too as you seem to have the same, or similar, bugpack exhaust set up as i have. I have a metalworkers down the road and they should be able to fab one up.

Thanks Al

Yes it went on with the bugpack thing no problem. The only type that wouldnt i think is the type that goes under the engine and onto the chassis rails.

No idea! got it off danbury doug a year or so ago

It could well be a westy they had several styles for the earlybay and indeed throughout the entire vw range, depends on the towing weight as to what style you opted for....

that style was one of them, I have a **** load instructions and details and diagrams of westy towbars all vehicles all models 60's to 90's the problem is its not very easy to search a particular type as the file labels arent easy to follow and its a fecking huge file with hundreds of bars, if I get time I'll dig out the relevant fitting instructions with pics .....

although it is the same style as a contemporary westy bar it was coppied by others, does it really matter anyway?
