Lotsa luck dude, just focus on the smile as you drive away.
Here is a tip for free, I used to have take cars (taxis) in every year for their inspection. The motors had to be oil and oil leak free. I would steam or pressure clean them as a matter of course, but as close as I could get to the inspection centre I wold crawl under them and wipe away ant little drops of leakage. It always worked. I wasn't wiping away major leaks of course but removing any sign that would be obvious.
Another little tecnique was my mates and I had a spare set of upholstery for when ours was gettin repaired, we always used that for the inspection, as the car could be failed for the smallest tear in a seat.
They were a light brown in colour (pretty common) and the regs didn't state that the colours had to match, just be in "seviceable" condition.
I reckon the spare set went through the "pits" about 5 times per year.
It would save us money as we only got the little nicks fixed when we were getting the bigger jobs done.
Taxi upholstery lives a hard life, believe me. Apart from the usual suspects.
