It has indeed been a long running project . Having spent a couple off summers trying to restore it myself I eventually give in and found an expert to take it on . One of the nicest men this world has ever seen (John) . However being regarded as possibly the best restorer in Ireland John had a long line of buses waiting to be done . No problem , this would allow me to save . As it turned out the bus sat for a few years and so I was delighted when John called me and said he would be starting into it that evening .That was to be the last I spoke to John as he suffered a heart attack hours later and sadly passed away . After this a new restorer had to be found and of course the bus would once again join the back of the line . So another few years passed and I was starting to loose hope off ever seeing it done .Approx 2yrs ago I started to receive photos of the progress and in what seemed like a few weeks she was ready to come home. I was absolutely delighted with the work and having found dry storage for her I looked forward to adding the finishing touches . However with the body and paint being so good the decision was that the standard would have to be applied to all parts going on which off course meant spending money and this would add to the time taken to finish the bus but it would be worth it .It was slowly taking shape and then I had to give up work for health reasons and the cash started to dry up .Health issues behind me it's time to get back to her , cash is still a bit tight but I don't want to start cutting corners now . The engine and box are ready to go back in and the brakes , suspension etc will be done over the next couple off months . The plan is now to get her road going and add the interior as and when I can . This will be dictated by funds but I hope to see it all come together in 2018 , watch this space .
