One might need to replace both the front & rear tyres, as I think it unlikely that they would be of appropriate MINIMUM load-rating for a 1968~79 VW Type 2, whose plated-weights for the front & rear "axles" are 1,010 kg & 1,300 kg respectively, so front & rear tyres would need to have ABSOLUTE MINIMUM load-ratings of 505 kg & 650 kg respectively, even if the vehicle was never fully laden.

From what I remember of most after-market alloy wheels for both the 1968~70 VW Type 2 [5 x 205 mm PCD] and 1971~79 VW Type 2 [ 5 x 112 mm PCD], they have a much smaller wheel-offset than is ideal for the vehicle and may be susceptible to tyres rubbing against the outboard surfaces inside the wheel-arches.

Thanks for the information naskeet. The tyre ratings which come with the wheels for the rear are 95 so that’s fine . Fronts will need to be changed as are only 81. Appreciate the information and heads up . Have a good day .
