Just checking - clutch size on a 1600TP Bay

On the assumption that the engine is completely as it left the factory in '76....

Would I be right in thinking;

The T1 based engine = 1600cc
The clutch is 215mm

If it is a t1 [thought most after 74/75, were T4 engines??] then yes it should be a 215mm, although you may find it's a 200mm, just depends on the date it was made....

I haven't been much help but hopefully someone will be more so soon! :lol:

Yes, was suprised to see it was T1 based.

But unfortunately the heads are shot, and uses a lot of oil so need to order an engine for it, but as the engine has never been out its an unknown clutch but need to order the right one. If its not a definate, then will have to pull the engine first but hoping not to do that, as at least at the moment it drives to move it around.

nah - I'd just drop the engine when you can [ie when it most suits] and bite the bullet.....

215m clutch is quite rare I believe....

Well pulled it this afternoon. What a horrible messy engine it is. Turns out its a 200mm clutch on it, so that makes the choice of replacement a bit wider.
