Anyone any thoughts on the following.....

It happens when riding over uneaven roads, coming from the far off-side front wheel area, I have had the wheel/spindle/steering linkage off to put the WagenWest spindles on and still I get the knocking.

I also took the bumper off as it sound like a light sound as apposed to something heavy, when the weight is off that side its more of a rattle. It done seam to be getting worse and doesnt affect the handling, but bugging the hell outta me! :?

Any Ideas welcome

Had the same on the '68 this afternoon. It was the shock top mount loose. Have you checked?

Has your anti roll bar broken at the mount?
I had exactly the same knocking noise after mine snapped.

Thats an interesting one, im not sure if im imagining things but dont seem to handle the same going round right hand bends as it does lefts :!: I put it down to the camber in the road..........It did Pass an MOT last month so hoping that would have been picked up.

Mine snapped right where the bar goes into the rubber, hard to see unless you give it a good tug.

Have you greased your beam recently? Pump it full and see if you still get the knocking

Thanks Guys

The knocking was indeed the top shock mount, I could turn it with my fingers, altho the nut on the back was tight. Only need half a turn and bingo! Also greased the beam, didnt take much but done anyway.

Thanks for all your suggestions, Ace forum as ever!
