I've got lazy windscreen wipers! They work but the windscreen needs to be wet and they occasionally need "help" to get started :) just moving them gets them going then they work fine

what's it likely to be? Muir's tells me to replace bushes but I get the impression it's a bitch to get the motor out?

Just wondering what it's worth getting in spares wise before I attempt it - I'm also not 100% sure how to remove the OG stereo and if there are any tips on doing this

Thanks

Hiya lard,

Slow wipers are due to one of three possibilities...............

1. Poor electrical contacts. Yes, brushes are in this category. But more than brushes you might also want to check the various spade connectors to make sure they are shiny and clean. Don't forget the grounds either.

2. The wiper motor needs to be disassembled, cleaned and regreased. The original factory grease can really harden up and provide very little in the way of lubrication. And you'll find electrical contacts inside the wiper motor when you do this. They need to be cleaned and polished too.

3. The wiper pivots need to be disassembled, cleaned and regreased. This is a job that should be done once a year. The friction of the wiper pivot shafts in their wiper pivot assemblies can stop that wire system dead.

hi
i have had slow wipers and found it was caused by the washer rubber tube hooking on the arm.
