I have just had the shock of my life  I just seen my bay rolling slowly past my window. I had to chock the wheels with my shoes and get the keys. It had been sat for over an hour :? I hadn't pulled the brake on hard enough. It's the first time I didn't leave it in gear

Please say I am not the only one to have done something like this?

You are the only one - you are very irresponsible - you could have hurt someone - no-one else has ever done this!

Just kidding, glad you and the van are OK - loads of people have done this sort of thing, last time I did it my wife was trying to get out of the car!!!

;)

oh dear.

hope it didnt hit anything.

My old man did this in an audi 80 many years ago, resulting in needing 2 new doors, a front wing and rear arch repair. The car rolled down a slope and hit the one and only bollard in the area.

your not alone.

About 10 years ago I was sit in the lounge when I heard an enormous bang outside - I went out to have a look to find my neighbours car embedded on the front of my Metro ( ), he drove up the hill past my house and "forgot" to put the brake on while he changed the cassette on his stereo!! Dufus!

;)

Oh just remembered another one. This time some daft woman left her kids in the car, it began to roll down a VERY steep hill in nottingham. One kid managed to grab the wheel and steer the car into my Aunts drive, avoiding their parked car, but crashing through her front door.

see there are plents of daft peple out there :D

Doh! Does happen to the best of us though I have never done it..........

Yes that is the fire up lane at Chimay, Just added any picture as I could not find my Camera . I had to move it from the middle of the road quick. It never hit anything, but I had to use my shoe to stop it.

this happened to me , van rolled very gently backwards for 25 yards on to the very busy A23 in Streatham ...came to a halt against a double decker bus...bus driver didn't see it drove foreward & used my rear bumper to rip his side door off  (it was only a repro one)
Luckily no-one was hurt

I did it was fiiting my new gear stick on mine left the brake off then my cousin pulled up behind talking to him for about 20 mins and then it decided to roll towards his car he stuck his foot under the wheel to stop it.
Glad he saved my bus from being dented on his chav wagon
