Given the price of petrol these days, I wondered if it was 'fuelling' demand for EB locking caps up to 1971?

Are these available anywhere, or do I need to drill the door and fit a padlock?

2 ways of looking at this problem, what would you rather have.. a stolen tank of fuel or crow bar damage to the side of your bus where the scum bags have levered your cap off  i know which option i would choose!!

This German guy has new lockable caps to fit EB's. I bought one at the Volksworld show for £20. Not chrome but does the job.

Email him would prob be best - [email protected]
or Tel - 0049 (0)172/64 62 8 64

He's a real nice bloke.

is that the one that comes in 2 parts? You have to secure a metal ring into the filler neck? Are they pretty secure?

I've got a nice chrome one on my 1971 bay.. too dark now but will take it off and have a look for make/number anything that might help you source it..

Try:

Empi Pervert, are the caps you are bringing in the same as the one on the links below (polished stainless re-pro)

http://www2.cip1.com/SearchResults.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;? ... arch2.y=18

http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/Detai" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... 43201551LK

If they are I would happliy take one at £65 posted. Let me know and I will get a check or paypal off to you.

Thanks, Matt

Here's the thing, at 65 sheets a pop It's cheaper to lose a tank of fuel! Value is my middle name so now I see a 'gym locker' style thing emerging in my minds eye. Yeah I know, I'm an animal, if I have time I may design and make an attachment to lock the original cap in place instead, with a padlock naturally!
