Hi, pretty much every time I take my 70 Westy out & above 40mph every now & then there is a loud mouse, almost like a stone has hit the van, but from the front of the roof and occasionally from the near side, but mainly the front roof. When it happens it makes you jump out of your skin!
It’s not a stone as it happens when no cars are around & the sounds it to dull & dense for a stone. No obvious signs of what it is so any help would be appreciated!

Your roof will be lifting at the front when the wind gets under it. First time mine did it I nearly filled my shorts!
There should be 2 brackets in the middle under the front of the roof...one attached to the roof and the other the bus.
They interlock when it closes to hold the front down, but some are missing them.
Mine had none so I used a leather bonnet strap on the outside...not ideal, but works for me.
Cheers
Al
