I want some drop spindles for my early bay.

Question is I would like to upgrade the brakes in the future so if I bought drop spindles now could I use the same ones for a disc conversion in the future.

I obviously think looks are better than safety haha

From what I can gather you will need late bay front brakes, if you have drums you will need everything from the back plate outwards, if you have discs already, from what I have found through parts listed on VW heritage, the back plates and hubs are the same from 71 onwards, it's just calipers, discs and pads that will need changing.

I am wanting to fit dropped spindles to mine, mine is a 71 so has front discs already but would also like a definite answer.

Not sure on the hoses?

Someone please correct if I am wrong.

Chris.

From what little I know, you should do the disk conversion first. You cannot use the drop spindles and then switch to disks later.
I'm looking to swap my drop spindles for a set of Wagenwest spindles. Curious what you went with if you did already.
Not many responses here on this site helping you out??
