Looking good
Youre getting that list ticked off well

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Yes stuff off the list is coming off, but more stuff goes up too. The more Ideas that I get rolling through my head lol.

More done equals more forward progress. I got the back of the rear seat back rest staples up. I used the back from the old covers, and it looks really good. I also got the rest of the wood cut for around the pop top. Which means now I just need my top to get finished up, and I'll be ready for install. The guy started working on it last week so hope to see it this week or next at the lastest.

Mail man brought me a present today. I got my kick panels in today. The front area just feels more complete now. Pretty simple install not hard at all.

Last night was fun I decided to get the rest of the wood prepped for when my tent is ready. Drilled the holes and stained it all up. I also had some extra trim laying around, and I had to cut a piece for above the closet. Here is where the fun starts. My kids were sleeping so loud power tools are pretty much out of the question since my sons room is right above the garage. I also didn't want to wait till tomorrow to do more when there time for stuff to be done. So I cut that piece by hand with a small hack saw. Got it installed and felt accomplished. Didn't take as long as most of you would think. It was 45 inches long I just put on some music, and started going. Looks a lot better now then looking at headliner just ending.

Ordered my table leg from the local RV place yesterday, and BAM!!!!! It showed up today. Awesome turn around if you ask me. Got that installed. Still just waiting on this tent. I was hoping to have it on before I left for the holidays, but that is looking very slim. All the other pieces are coming together quiet nicely though which is a good thing. Every little thing I get done just gets me closer to have this beast in the forest camping.

So I finally attached the seats to the brackets. I kind of just had them sitting there. After I got that done I hadn't yet put the table back on my jump seat so I did that as well. Wife had to give me a quick helping hand so that I could get it level. Just need to look into getting some one inch veneer iron on molding to finish the edges of the tables. Cleaned up the floor a little bit. Wont be keeping this flooring though. I have some other stuff I will be using. Next plan probably today is to look into making anchor points for car seats. That way the kiddos can tag along on the adventures. More to come.

Thank you she is coming along.

Update I started looking through all the receipts I have with the bus which date all the way back to 83. And we found a couple things. First she was maintained very well. And second her name was Lucy. So being that I want the bus to be happy I'm changing her name from Mallow, back to her old name Lucy.

Not to much progress, it was a pretty busy weekend. I'm also going into a pretty busy week before I leave on vacation. So not a lot is going to get done. I called about my tent should be done today. I hope I can get across the ferry on Wednesday to pick it up. I really want to get it in before I leave. If I don't then there is always time when I get home. I did manage to get the table edges finished, and I stained them up to match. They look awesome, I love that veneer iron on stuff. Coolest thing that Band-it has made, and I have used there steel stuff before on pipe repairs. Being That i'm in the navy and we need to know how to stop leaks if they happen. Subs don't work properly if theres water in the people tank. I will be making my curtains, and the bed cover while I'm on vacation, so I guess I will be getting some things done which is a good thing. Plans for when I get home are the rear main seal, welding in the dog legs, body work, and some paint. Then she will be camping ready for the season hopefully.

Got the Veneer edging, but was up pretty early because of duty so I ended up falling to sleep on the couch with my daughter. I did get a call for my tent, and I'm planning on picking it up tomorrow. Which is good should be able to start putting it up tomorrow, and finally get her out of the garage. I may be able to drive her before I go on leave. Which is a great mile stone.

Let's just say I'm not a happy camper right now. I waited 5 weeks for my tent to get made. I tried putting it in last night and the thing is 6 inches to short in length. So I'm unable to get my bus out of the garage before my surgery. I have been getting small things done, but the big thing I wanted to get done failed because it wasn't made right. I've been working on the sink some more. I veneered the edge around it. Still need to do the table and then stain it. It is going to look good when it is done. I also had a pretty good amount of 2 inch foam laying around from the upholstery. So I decided to put it in the rear hatch between the metal and the panel that goes back there. It will work very well for insulation, and sound proofing. So I guess my next step is to work on the body since I can't get pop top finished. I'll be laid up soon here, getting the old snip of the balls. So I'll be laid up for a few days, and then just taking it easy for about 2 weeks hoping for less. Looks like I will be missing the Feb. camp outing a local club out here is having. I guess March is going to be my month.

Thanks for the info on the foam didn't even think about the drains when I did it. Well 2 days left till I go in for the snip. I plan on finishing up the sink veneer. I did get some new turn signal lenses and seal for xmas so I put those on. Looks way better than the old cracked ones that were on there.

Well my vasectomy went really well. I didn't feel a thing during the procedure, and haven't been in too much pain afterwards. Just more of an uncomfortable thing every once in awhile. So I got my tent back on Friday go figure a couple days after I get snipped. Wasn't feeling it then so I just continued to lay in bed. Today I felt pretty good and got to work took me all day to put the tent up, but I only worked for a little bit at a time so that I didn't over do it. The first set of working I could feel I was so I stopped and iced up for awhile then I ended up taking a nap. I managed to get it hung, and all I have left now is to put up the edging pieces to hide how the tent is held up. I'll finish that up tomorrow.

Got the first side up this is when I stopped to ice up and sleep.

Been hitting it kind of slow, but keeping on it. Everyday feels a little better down there so I can do a little more each day. So yesterday I got the rest of the sink veneered, and stained. Tonight I'm working on the grill and I built a shelf above our water tank for the wife. I finished getting it all the way down to bare metal and I etched primed it. Right now I'm in the process of seeing how the plasti dip stuff comes out. Yes I have decided to plasti dip the whole bus. Been reading up a lot on it, and it is some good stuff. A lot more durable then I thought. Plus it covers up the primer and not mess it up for a paint job down the road later.

Plasti dipped the grill, and boy is it beautiful. Can't wait to order the pro car kit. I have a lot of work with the body for prep before I jump though. It came out very clean and smooth. I used just the can to see how I would like the product. So far its a win in my book.

Been working on a few things, and then got a wild hair up my ***. I sprayed a third of the bus with some stripper to sit over night. Starting to pull off the paint so I can start on the body work. We will see what that holds. Camping is in the works for Feb. 14th. One of the groups that camps year round is coming our side of the water. So can't miss the chance. Pictures to of the stripped paint later.

So I didn't have any 1's, but there was plenty of stripping going on in the garage last night. Ok all jokes aside I started stripping the paint a day ago. Last night I went crazy and started painting stripper all over Lucy last night. Some paints are harder then others so I have to let my natural stripper sit longer. So I let sleep work for me and hit her up right before bed and by morning lots of paint is ready to come off. Liking the beatification that is going on here. The passenger side door has stripper on it as well just haven't started it yet.

Lets just say the stripping has been going very well. I'm in a time crunch for 14 Feb. Thats camping trip #1 for Lucy I'm trying to get primer up to the bump. I have one panel primed, and I'm hoping to have the rest done this week. I sanded the nose last night so thats good to go for primer. I also started on the driver side door, but time and a wife vetoed finishing it. The passenger side door will be very easy it pretty much smooth, just need to hit it with finishing paper. Should have primer on the nose, and both fron doors today, but I'll keep an open mind just in case is doesn't happen. After the camping trip I'll be stripping up to the roof. Thinking I'm going to leave the roof white and do the 2 tone theme. More to come later.
