MDF vw engine bay treated

Hey guys, got some MDF that I was thinking of mounting where the tar boards on the roof on the engine bay are located as a replacement.

Will I have to treat the MDF with something ... ie paint it etc etc -
or will, it be okay as is ??

any advice appreciated fellas

MDF is a little heavy. Try using insulation. Cellotex is a good one and then a coat of fire resistant black
that you use to spray the coals with in the gas fires. All available from your local supplier.

Of course any thing goes , what ever makes you happy, it is your van. I am sure there will be loads of
assistance on it's way.
