Hello people, I might be buying a house, the silly fools will let me have 115,000.....hahahaha and it works out cheaper than renting at the moment :D

Anyone got any advice on anything to do with house stuff, It will prob be a flat somewhere :D

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

PS go check out my Kids T Shirt design....NOOOOOOOOW!

Buy a wreck, and rope in as many handy relatives to do as much of the donkey work as possible and disguise it as a 'decorating partaay!' shamone!

Nice one dude, I am in the process of buying one but its £250000 and its a tad more than my rent, so it means gruel for tea

The best thing is look at an area that is hopefully going to show you a return when you sell the house i.e up and coming. Get a good convency agent as they do the house stuff on a daily basis and can work out allot cheaper.

Dont get too stressed out about moving and save up about 3 grand to cover solicitors fees, searches and valuation stuff and you wont go far wrong 8)

Get the best you can afford, but remember that your mortgage may go up if the new chancellor can't sort his life out (might be worth getting a fixed rate even if it is more expensive - that way you'll know how much your payments will be for some time).

Don't be afraid of a little DIY, you'll save a fortune that way!

Good luck dude (& dudette) - there's nothing like stepping through the doorway of your own home for the first time...

;)

cant even buy a garage for that price near me  you dont know what i have just spent on a 3 bed place. Due to move in in 4 weeks, decorating party def to be held

your at the end of the chain which is always a nice position to be in :D

good conveyancy solicitor makes life piss easy

good location

be really sure before you lay out cash on surveys

join the Thatcherite dream set aside your socialist principles and as your after a flat (apartment) you can wee wee on all the troglodytes below

and still have £67,000 left over

No, seriously.... GL with the hunt... theres nothing like coming home, putting your feet up, and cracking open a beer (or cider :) ) in your own home!

One important word of advice... make sure you ask/know about the neighbours your moving in beside, as they can make your life hell... im speaking from experience

go for it but check the flat over really well, dont feel like you have to view it in 15 minutes. me n the minky bought our place last year and i havent stopped working on it, i mean every night till 9 and weekends.
the plaster fell off the walls when i started papering so be warned, however you will learn plenty of new skills!

its a great feeling owning your own place, i wished i done it sooner...
but check what the areas like and the neighbours, one of mine is great, the other OK, one is a nightmare!

also prices will only go up so get in there!

hell yeah! ill bet my bus on it!

there are to many people in this country already, also they are breeding like rats so there will always be a need for housing.
there isnt much room for new housing so supply and demand, there may be a drop or a levelling out but i doubt there will be a crash like in the 80s

also the small house and flat market is running dry as prices soar, if we hadnt bought our place last year we couldnt have afforded it now as its not a first rung of the ladder flat anymore.

Picking the best you can get with your spending limit is definatly the way to go, believe me you dont want to move again too soon believe me!!. We will be moving house in 2 weeks and it took me 3 days just to pack the stuff in the garage alone!!!, i had enough of welding in the snow and rain this winter so have bought a house with a double garage so i can work on the bus on those drab rainy weekends, something we seem to have a lot of at the moment. :(

Fidn a agarage and hope it has a hosue attached and do not listen to the misses I sold and moved three years ago, left a garage 10 x7m and paid for 250K for a garage (did come with a house) and I can only get part of my stuff in, let alone a van
GL with the hunting

Well how does, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 ensuit, open plan kitchen living room, underground parking (so its a bit like a garage) free use of the swimming pool and gym, and its on top of a hill close to the top floor with a balcony over looking the town :D

i bought an ex council house 5 years ago. i had it valued 18 months ago and it had doubled its value, we have spent the last year doing it up, still got another years worth of work to go at least. its never ending

i love owning my own house, but thats cos im a very homely person. the money side isnt the most important thing to me, its the fact that this little bit of land with bricks on is all mine :)

if i move again it will be to the house i will live in forever

good luck :D

Emerald, you should live in a castle it sounds like it would suit you, maybe we could all be you nights of the bay table :D
