well said 5erge, you early boys do run tiny tyres which could affect the mileage given vs actual, you should be using gps/sat nav for exact miles/speed

This tyre calculator is handy to see how far out your speedo is if running slammed tyres

I drove my bus the other day, passed one of them LED signs that displays back to you what speed you are currently doing. At 35mph flashing on the sign my bus was showing approx 42mph on the speedo

Running 185/65/15's on the rear if I remember correctly (will check this evening when I get home)

So is my speedo fooked?
Require bigger or smaller tires maybe?

Own a Bay?......Feel the love!

i run 195/70/15 which is only slightly out to standard 185/80/14 but my speedo runs about 6mph under when i show 60 the sat nav shows 54 so i'm sure the speedos aren't 100% accurate anyway.

18mpg with a 2276 Dormie and dont care

You cared enough to record your MPG though

I suppose the interesting part is that your bus does wheelies and still returns MPG comparible with a late auto.

Best i've ever got was 32 on a long'ish run sat @ 50 - 55 mph. Standard wheels & tyres 1600sp with single carb.
I'm happy with that.

In the region of 34mpg on long runs, sitting at 50 - 55mph. 1600 single port with twin 34s.
The only way to get better fuel consumption that I can see is to come home on the back of the big yellow taxi.....

Just drained my first full tank in the diesel conversion, 45.68MPG. Standard ride height, wheels and tyres. Lovely jubly.

If it's any comfort my petrol t4 did 28mpg at best, the 88hp diseasel wasn't any better, just slower.

you got any links to the conversion - what engine etc - i must admit i've toyed with the idea but only if my engine goes west.

2027 running 36 dells.

27.5 mpg running at 65-70 (averaged over 500 miles)

get 32 if i drive at 50-55 (averaged over 300 miles)

Great mpg....BUT you better stay out of Borris Johnsons "London emission zone", you will have to pay £100-00 EVERY day you are in the zone.
