Having a clear out and fund raiser, dragged that 1300 Beetle engine out and stripped it down. Found I have enough stuff to rebuild it , bearings, 1679 P&Bs ,110 cam, new rear seal and push rod tubes and gaskets. 1600 twin port heads , vac or 009 dist and either 31 carb or twin Webber 36IDF carbs. Only bit I am short of is a crank pully.

I forgot how hard it it to clean the case 1/2s, been sat 20 odd years and still had the dried on crud from the Beetle!!! 4 hours with a small wire brush, screw driver and 3 pots of Jizer

Come down with a stinking cold so not touched it, well at least it will have dried out when I get to it.

Back on it after Crimbo as need to get it done, also have to finish the panel. Entered my hot rod I am building in a show at the 3 Counties in April and not going to be finished but have to get as much done as I can.
