UPDATE 30TH MAY

took the bus to colchester to get the carbs rejetted and tuned up. Well worth it, as it was running really lean. CO was 1.3% when it was last tested

Results are now

CO 4-5%
engine power 66.1 BHP
@ wheels 41.6 BHP

engine now runs smoother and cooler, feels much better, new bell crank linkage is great too

cost £90 plus vat, for a 2hr session, well worth it

where can i get my hands on a steering wheel like the one you have???

I have heard they are very pricey but can also get similar replicas for a little less................

WORK DONE

* got oil temp and oil pressure gauges working
* rewired rear lights, so reverse lites are now indicators (failed MOT on US spec lenses)
* Full MOT passed..............woohooooo



UPDATED WORKS TO BE DONE

* replace main oil seal on engine due to leak
* new rear drums and shoes on the back
* fit external oil cooler and fan
* plumb in oil cooler
* possible fit new stainless A1 muffler or Bluebird SS system

would advise against the bluebird one doood, you will get a heat stripe down the box, which doesnt look nice :( get a JK one or turbo thomas :wink:

bought the vwspeedshop turbo trip muffler, full SS
 
Rich Morena has now fitted a 1914, with twin carbs to my old bus

The new owner wanted a little more poke

hes also gonna be fitting a 1914 with twin 40 webers to my 71 in a few weeks time
 
Nice bus, I like whats been done to the roof lining in ur bus. What wood has been used and where did you source it from and the aluminium joining strips. May do the same thing in my bus, when i gt round to the interior.
