Wow 9 months since I last update this thread. Time really does fly. So since May we have done lots in the van, see below various pictures.

We went to Spa and had a great time.

The pictures above are using Red9 ez coilover kit 2-4" with wagenwest 2.5" dropped spindles. Running 15" Splitty rims 175/55 up front. 185/65 Rear.

I have now changed and have adjusters in the beam whilst still running the 2.5" wagenwest dropped spindles.

So last week I pulled the engine out and did the following;

Installed flaps
Replaced singleport fan with twinport
Installed rear deflector plates
Sorted a few other bits of tin
Full service

Van seems to be running a lot cooler now.

Also changed from 20w50 oil to 15w40.

Went out for a blast yesterday was really nice to clock up a few miles. Looking forward to Apex this weekend.

Still love this van, possibly my favourite EB... and the reason I am no longer a split owner! 8)

Thanks for your kind words. You bus looks ace as does your beetle. Did your mate get a bus in the end?

Ah, he's still interested in getting one but hasn't taken the plunge... I'm pleased you decided to keep yours, you seemed far too into it to be selling ;)

Mine is getting there... have been plugging away at it and other than the ongoing temptation to slam it and the nagging feeling that I should (for purely practical reasons) think about a Diesel Westy with bunks up top I love it. Just wishing we could have some nice weather so I can enjoy camping

Beetle is a mission... I get to take all of my Cal Look ambitions out on that and hopefully it helps me keep the bus stock ;)

You doing Van Jamboree this year?

Hello,

Great bus!
I am Raymond from the netherlands and am looking for information on Red9 2 - 4 inch comined with dropped spindles. Thats wy i found this article. I am running on the red9 and I am not 100% happy with the setup now because I think the ball joints do not have enough travel.

I was thinking to add dropped spindles to solve this problem and then set the red9 to the highest setting. But nobody can tell me how it rides, and if the tires will be rubbing and hit the bus.

What is you're experience en why did you change to the adjustables on the axle.

Mayby someone else can also help.

Thnx Raymond

Wow just looking back over this and reminiscing. Sold the bus in March 2016. Believe it was sold again after and no lives in Denmark
