Well we did some more in the engine bay on the right hand side... Tight fit but warm for welding... :lol:

Top section complete....

And then pillar down and rear flange.... :D

While that was going in i carried on with the tinware.... :D
Had to weld more on the front as it kept blowing so cut back to better old metal

Left hand side piece in with some original bits saved and spot welded in place....

Front section welding now complete..!! And after a tickle with the panel hammers...!! :D

Will skim over with filler next......

Started on rear tinware. Having to build complete new corner...!!! :roll:

It's just like a metal jigsaw doing the tinware...!! Lol :lol:

The unit felt like a storage freezer for iceland today...!!!! Bbbbbbrrrrrrr :shock:

Decided to do a repair on right side corner to....

Trial fit around engine.!! Then when i get a chance i'll give it a once over with the sandblaster and then onto primer, filler and paint...!!! :D

Well had to work this wkend but have been pottering in the works workshop in between..!! 8)

Using a shell frame from an old disused plug tray popper and some metal cladding off an old germ room i'm building a sandblasting cabinet of sorts for myself..!!! LoL :lol:

Tried spot welding panels on at 1st put it wouldn't stick so...

Used the drill and pot rivet method...

now just need to add the perspex top, make holes for glove, airline, light, hoover extractor entry and then
nearly there...!!!??? Oh and buy a sandblasting pot at some point...!!?? :lol:

I welded in two new screw eyes on one piece of the lower tineware that had rust/broken off....

I may even pluck up the courage to do some proper welding on the body myself soon...!!!?? :lol: :D

Well stuck at work on watering duty today but only needed to do a little bit so had plenty of time in the workshop here working on the sandblasting cabinet...!!! :msn4: :lol: :D

Perspex window fitted... it will slide out so will have a layer of florist cellophane infront of it to protect it...

Used the sewing machine and some old seed canvas bags and make these...

Guauntlet gloves then push in..!! :D (saves fixing the gaunlet to the unit and having to push the fingers back in once turned inside out when pulling hand out..!! :lol:

Made a sliding base plate so i can empty the trays of media out the bottom....

Lighting conduit in on this side and a kneeling stool in the making for comfortable operation...!! :lol:

that looks like alot of work. well worth it, great job.

do them heat vent throw out much heat i have the base of whats left of them and there is a wire with a bar on it.
the last owner has foamed them up? :?
 
Hi geordie, sorry for late reply but have been playing in the white stuff for a week in France...!!! 8)

Once the engine is warmed up they do throw out the heat. And on a cold day they still work well with front and back open, stops you getting a cold neck from the back..!! :lol: :D

Well while i was playing in the mountains last week :msn4: my mate did some more welding to the engine bay..... :D

Right hand side coming along nicely, engine seal foam lip being re-instated....

Well Finally got all the bits together to make up the media blasting box and get it running...!!!
